Now four months into my apprenticeship, i have entered my "sophomore year" here at Mill Creek Pottery.  The new apprentice, Mike Gesiakowski, arrived the first week of July.  We will be breaking ground soon for the foundation of the tran kiln, and will start laying bricks the week of July 26th.  We'll have a four person crew, and it will be in incredible learing process for us first -time kiln builders. i'll post pictures here later this month to document the process so stay tuned!

You will find new pots from our last firing below, as well as on my new Etsy site.

Bio-

I first started making pots in 2002 when I was in college in Burlington, Vermont. I took an intro. to wheel throwing class at the Burlington City Arts Clay Studio through my school,  Saint Michael's College, and in the tradition of fellow English majors everywhere, set off in pursuit of something outside my field of study.  I continued to work at BCA Clay as a studio assistant in the following years, and more recently have continued my clay education in such exotic locations as my mother's garage, the studio of a Maine potter named Mary Sweeney,  and The Penland School of Crafts, where I took a fall concentration with Tara Wilson.  While at Penland i had the pleasure of working with the dashing and charismatic Kenyon Hanson,  a former apprentice of Simon's, who helped lead me to my year here.  I'm excited to be at Mill Creek, and look forward to sharing my experience.
