When I began to study ceramics I sought out knowledge that would allow me to create a pottery, make pots, dig clay, build kilns and fire on my own. I teach with this same philosophy of empowerment. I lead a workshop with the goal that by the end everyone feels as though they can build a kiln, fire a kiln or return to the studio to follow their own path. This past year (2003) has been full of kiln building workshops and next year is filling up quickly. Among these photos you will see workshops I taught at the Archie Bray Foundation, the University of Southern Illinois and many others.
